Whale

A “crypto whale” is a high-net-worth individual (HNWI) or organization that owns a significant amount of a particular cryptocurrency. While there is no exact monetary threshold, a whale’s asset holdings typically exceed $10,000,000. The number of coins (or tokens) required to be considered a whale varies depending on the project. For example, an Ethereum whale may have more than 10,000 ether (ETH), and a Bitcoin whale may have more than 1,000 bitcoins (at 2021 prices) (BTC). Satoshi Nakamoto, Tim Draper, Barry Silbert, and the Winklevoss twins are among the best-known Bitcoin whales.
