WebAuthn

WebAuthn, which stands for “WebAuthentication,” is an online authentication tool for online environments. WebAuthn uses public-key cryptography (PKC) to authenticate users’ identities and verify their accounts instead of a username and password. This is considered far more secure because WebAuthn-enabled login credentials never leave a user’s device, eliminating the possibility of password theft and phishing attacks. WebAuthn can use biometric data to secure everything from your Twitter account to your cryptocurrency exchange account.
