Waves-NG is the Waves network mechanism that determines which node can generate the next block. To reduce the possibility of a fork and to improve network throughput, this mechanism divides the Waves blockchain into key blocks and microblocks. When the chosen miner node receives permission to generate the next transaction-free block by sending the key block, this is accomplished. Following the transmission of the key block, the node generates and transmits microblocks in three-second intervals (including transactions and reference to a previous microblock or key block). These microblocks are then mined by other miners and published to the network.
