An unconfirmed transaction is one that is sent from one address to another on a blockchain protocol but has not yet been fully appended to the blockchain and finalized. To receive the assets contained in a transaction, the transaction must typically go through several network confirmation stages. The number of network confirmations required to complete a transaction varies according to the blockchain network from which the transaction originated. An unconfirmed transaction is the inverse of a confirmed transaction in a blockchain context.
