Ryuk Ransomware

Ryuk ransomware attacks are a type of ransomware attack in which a malicious actor attempts to make essential files on a target device/network inaccessible to legitimate users so that the attacker can demand a ransom. Once the critical files have been corrupted, encrypted, or otherwise compromised, the victim is typically unable to regain access to these files on their own and is forced to pay the demanded ransom amount, which is frequently hundreds of thousands of dollars per attack. Ryuk attacks are fairly common and regularly cause tens of millions of dollars in damage each year.
