Quantitative Analysis

Quantitative analysis (QA) is a methodology for understanding behavior that employs mathematical and statistical modeling and research. QA is used to express a given reality numerically and can be applied to measuring, performing, and valuing various financial instruments. In finance, QA is primarily used to forecast the prices of various financial instruments such as derivatives, stocks, assets, and even entire economies. QA is also frequently used to forecast changes in GDP for specific countries and to compile various financial data sets for specific regions around the world.
