Maximum Supply

The maximum supply of a crypto asset, such as bitcoin (BTC) or ether (ETH), refers to the maximum number of coins or tokens that will ever exist in its lifetime. This classification corresponds to the number of fully diluted shares of an asset traded on a traditional stock exchange. The maximum supply differs from the circulating supply (the number of tokens publicly circulating in the market) and the total supply (which represents the number of tokens that have already been created, minus any burned tokens).
