When an exchange first offers trading pairs for a specific crypto asset, this is referred to as a “crypto exchange listing.” When an asset is listed on a reputable exchange and assigned a major trading pair, such as bitcoin (BTC) or ether (ETH), it indicates confidence in the project and its founders. A major exchange listing usually indicates that the newly listed asset has adequate liquidity. Crypto exchange listings are analogous to when a traditional company’s shares are first listed for trading on a specific stock exchange, indicating that the exchange trusts the company.
