Liquid Proof of Stake

The concept of Liquid Proof of Stake (LPoS) is a consensus mechanism based on the concept of liquid democracy. Liquid democracy is a system in which people can vote directly on issues or elect delegates to vote on their behalf. Delegates can also transfer the voting responsibilities assigned to them to another delegate, a process known as transitivity. If the person who delegated their vote does not agree with how their delegate voted, the person can withdraw their vote and vote directly. Users stake their tokens in LPoS systems to earn the right to participate in the blockchain’s consensus process, either directly or through a delegate.
