Layer-0 Blockchain

A Layer-0 blockchain is frequently regarded as the foundation upon which Layer-1 blockchains and Layer-2 scaling solutions are built. Though the precise classification of a Layer-0 blockchain is ambiguous, its main purpose is to facilitate the creation of an ecosystem of interoperable blockchain networks that work together concurrently. As a result, Polkadot and Cosmos are frequently referred to as Layer-0 blockchains because their networks only facilitate the security, connectivity, and interoperability of blockchains built on top of their respective platforms. Although many Layer-1 platforms, such as Ethereum, Avalanche, Solana, and others, serve some of these functions by connecting multiple blockchains, they are not Layer-0 networks.
