Ethereum dominance (ETHD) is a metric that compares the market capitalization of ether (ETH), the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency, to the total market capitalization of all other cryptocurrencies combined. ETHD is frequently perceived to be correlated with the performance of bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptocurrencies, or “altcoins.” In general, when the value of ETHD rises, the value of most other cryptocurrencies also rises, resulting in what is sometimes referred to as an “alt season.”
