Enterprise blockchain refers to blockchain systems used by large corporations for record-keeping, data storage, and a variety of other transaction and business types. To be viable for most real-world enterprise uses, long-term enterprise blockchain systems must have three main characteristics: scalability, decentralization, and security. Enterprise blockchains are typically systems with the extreme scalability required to process transactions very quickly due to the large amount of data that large corporations send and receive on a regular basis. Private, public, or hybrid enterprise blockchain systems are available.
