Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA)

The cryptographic signature algorithm used by Bitcoin and several other well-known cryptocurrencies, wallets, and exchanges is the Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA). The algorithm ensures that only the holders of private keys can send bitcoin (BTC) transactions by utilizing private keys, public keys, and cryptographic signatures. To create tokenized bitcoin, the tBTC system also employs ECDSA cryptography.
