Digital Signature Algorithm (DSA)

The Digital Signature Algorithm (DSA) is a specialized standardization for producing digital signatures for use in public-key cryptography (PKC) systems such as blockchains or related computing infrastructure. DSA was standardized in 1991 by the United States Federal Information Processing Standard in collaboration with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The DSA standard patent was made available for global use upon its creation, but it is expected that an upcoming update to the standardization process will render it deprecated and unusable.
