A Decentralized Storage Network (DSN) allows users to buy or rent data storage space via peer-to-peer (P2P) access. Clients securely transmit P2P files using end-to-end encryption techniques. Decentralized storage networks such as Sia, Filecoin, and Storj aim to reduce the risk of data failures that can occur with a centralized cloud storage provider. While many DSNs use a blockchain-based structure, other decentralized network architectures may be used.
