Blockchain Trilemma

The Blockchain Trilemma refers to the difficulty of balancing scalability, decentralization, and security in a blockchain network. While scalability refers to transaction speed and volume, decentralization refers to network node distribution, and security refers to protecting the system’s integrity from compromise. According to the Blockchain Trilemma, it is impossible to prioritize all three factors at the same time, so one must be sacrificed. Blockchain technologists and entrepreneurs continue to strive to solve the trilemma more effectively in the design of any network, update, or application.
